The goal of a corporate communications plan should be to educate and inform various audiences of events and newsworthy activities that they will find useful, interesting and compelling. The mission of Kaliah Communications, Inc. and its founder Mrs. Michelle Brown is to help organizations realize these goals.

Mrs. Brown has an extensive background in journalism and communications, which includes a degree in journalism from the University of Florida and professional experience as a newspaper journalist for The Bradenton Herald, The Gainesville Sun and The Palm Beach Post; marketing communications account executive; and manager of corporate communications and public relations.

She has more than 10 years' experience as print production manager for various projects, including marketing collateral, newsletters, magazines, and brochures and has won the Golden Pen Award of Merit from the Gold Coast Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators for her work as editor of Triarc Restaurant Group's Network News magazine. Triarc Restaurant Group of Fort Lauderdale is also known as Arby's, Inc., the quick-service food chain with more than 3,200 restaurants worldwide.

Jodi Nabel Ziskin—For nearly a decade, Jodi Nabel Ziskin has earned a solid reputation as an innovative and resourceful public relations, media relations, publicity, special event planning and promotions specialist. Jodi entered the world of marketing in the early 1990s at Orlando advertising agency Chernoff/Silver & Associates, where she served as an advertising account executive and media relations specialist.

In 1996, she became an account executive with a Hollywood-based public relations firm, where she was a key member of the team handling the exclusive Williams Island. She also worked with several other clients, including NBC's owned-and-operated Miami station, WTVJ 6. Jodi went on to become PR director for the political campaign, Save Our Everglades, before joining Zynyx Communications, Inc. The agency, which has recently become part of the Golin Harris family, employed Jodi as an integral part of its media relations, promotions and marketing team for several well-known national clients.

In 1998, Jodi established herself as a freelance publicist and media relations specialist and began working with Kaliah Communications, Inc. Her historical and current client roster includes the Miami Jewish Film Festival; Cozumel Tourist Bureau; Commodore Cruise Line; Ebay, Inc.; Volaris; Agilent Technologies; Chimento Corporation; Frozen Ropes; Fortune International; Del Webb; GlaxoWellcom and Eli Lilly.

 

Caryn L. Stumpfl—With 16 years of professional experience as a journalist and marketing copywriter, Caryn L. Stumpfl founded WriteNOW Communications Inc. in 2001 and joined creative forces on specific accounts with Kaliah Communications, Inc. in 2002.

Stumpfl serves a diverse group of clients, including the Boca Raton Resort & Club, the Florida Turnpike and ANC Corporation (Alamo/National Corp.). Prior to establishing her own successful company, Stumpfl was the Marketing Director for IBM Southeast Employee's Federal Credit Union in Boca Raton. At the credit union, Stumpfl was responsible for driving marketing, advertising, communications, e-commerce and new product development. She managed a staff of professionals and also provided all copy writing, editing and creative conceptualization for all promotions, direct mail, newsletters, web sites and ads.

Stumpfl received her expertise in financial and travel marketing at First Marketing in Pompano Beach, Fla. where she was employed from 1989 to 1998. Stumpfl quickly moved up the ranks at First Marketing, one of the world's largest newsletter publishers, from staff writer to account manager to supervisor, and finally, to Manager of the Consumer Division. She managed a large staff of writers and account managers and was responsible for $10 million in account billing from some of the largest financial institutions, airlines and hotels in the country.
